In this blog post, we hear from Igor, a student who recently participated in the Business Ambulance program. He shares his experiences working on a project in Thailand, where he and his team provided support to a local law firm. Through a series of questions, Igor discusses the challenges and successes of their social media marketing campaign, the skills they developed, and what made this experience truly unique.
Q: Tell me a bit about yourself.
Igor: I’m Igor, and I had the opportunity to travel to Thailand with Business Ambulance. Our project involved working with a local law firm, which was an incredible experience.
Q: Tell briefly about the social media marketing campaign you planned for your company. How did it go, and what did you achieve?
Igor: For the campaign, we implemented several key initiatives. We built a website that users could interact with and learn more about the law firm. We also created a Google Business account to ensure the firm could be found on search engines, as they had no online presence before our involvement. Additionally, we managed their social media by creating posts for Instagram and Facebook. I believe the campaign went really well. We achieved all our primary goals, including setting up the website and Google Business account, and creating social media posts. However, due to time constraints, we couldn’t gather data on the number of visitors or other analytics from our campaign.
Q: What social media marketing skills has your team learned during this project?
Igor: Our team leveraged a lot of our existing skills, especially in website development and social media, as we had members experienced in these areas. The biggest learning curve was understanding and complying with local regulations and laws related to marketing, which were particularly stringent because we were working with a law firm. Another new area for us was managing the Google Business account, which had its own set of rules that we needed to follow.
Q: How has it felt to work in international groups?
Igor: Working in an international group was a great experience. All the students were highly motivated, and we didn’t face any significant issues. Our English proficiency levels were similar, so communication was smooth. Everyone was fantastic, and I really enjoyed collaborating with them.
Q: What type of experience was Business Ambulance?
Igor: Business Ambulance was, I would say, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was amazing to meet and work with so many different people, to spend time with them, and to learn about new countries and cultures. It also provided a great opportunity to start networking and make friends from all over the world.
Summary
Igor’s journey with Business Ambulance in Thailand offers valuable insights into the real-world challenges and rewards of working in an international, cross-cultural environment. From establishing an online presence for a law firm to navigating local regulations, Igor and his team gained crucial skills that will undoubtedly benefit them in their future careers. The experience not only enhanced their professional abilities but also enriched their personal lives by connecting them with people and cultures from around the globe.
